Java Developer Intern at University of Sindh | 2017 – 2018

This blog shares my journey as a Java Developer Intern at the University of Sindh, where I worked with Java, Java EE, Hibernate, and JMeter. It highlights how early internships and practical learning help build strong technical and professional skills.

FINAL THUMBNAIL

I started developing assignments in Java development and Java EE development using Hibernate during my second year of university in mid-2017. This early exposure helped me build interest in backend development with Java. To strengthen my skills, I joined Gexton to get certified as a Java Developer. Later, I groomed myself in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and requested a university professor to help me secure a Java internship to validate my practical experience.

As a result, the University of Sindh provided me with a Java Developer internship opportunity within their Campus Management System and computer labs.

Java Developer Intern (Sept 2017 – March 2018)

My journey as a Java Developer Intern started by teaching labs and working with the campus technical team on Java backend systems. During this internship, I learned and worked with the following Java technologies and frameworks:

  • Hibernate
  • Java EE
  • JSP
  • JUnit
  • JMeter

I learned these Java frameworks and testing tools to groom my skills and prepare myself for software developer job opportunities during and after university.

The most interesting part of my Java internship was working with JMeter performance testing. I applied load testing on websites and organized thread pools and throttling techniques to reduce risk of DoS attacks and improve backend scalability and performance.
